  9. I.  What is CD-CAT application?
  10.  
  11. CD_CAT is an application for keeping information about
  12. CD library,fast searching required files and comparing
  13. contain of a CD with CDs in library. Graphic and Windows
  14. Explorer like interface makes this processes very easy.
  15. The freeware version is intended to demonstrate
  16. functionality of KSF's components TDBTreeView, TDBListView,
  17. and TDBImageList.

  19. Commercial version of this application is also available at KSF.

  21. II. Troubleshooting.
  22. After you have installed and started CD_CAT you may get
  23. message "Cannot load an IDAPI service library." It means
  24. that DAO 3.0 is not properly installed on your system or not
  25. installed at all.If you have not installed DAO 3.0 on your 
  26. computer, you may download it from 
  27. ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/SoftLib/MSLFiles/DAOREDIS.EXE.
  28. If DAO 3.0 is installed on your computer and you are still
  29. getting the message, then, probably, you registry database
  30. misses a record Borland BDE is looking for. Fixreg.exe from
  31. the installation set of CD_CAT can fix this problem. Just
  32. start the Fixreg.exe and if it finds DAO on your computer,
  33. it will create a proper record in the registry database.

  35. III. What is in commercial version?
  36.  
  37. Commercial version of the CD-CAT application allows:
  38. 1. Add to the database list of files, stored in
  39.    archives on a CD.
  40. 2. Open several Find and Match windows.
  41. 3. Find dialog allows to specify patterns to search in 
  42.    the description field.
  43. 4. Locate a file, found by the Find utility, in the main
  44.    window by double-clicking on the file.
  45. 5. Change the icon, associated with an existing entry.
  46. 6. Store user preferences  and last position on the screen.
  47. 7. Multiuser support.
  48. 8. Compact database utility.
